A lesson in dishonesty and immorality at an early age!

Having difficulty with you mid-term paper? Need to have an essay done for your English class? Have a term-paper due but you cannot come up with the material or the sources?

Well tough luck! You are stuck with the research, finding the sources, and actually writing the paper. Unless, of course, you have a smarter younger sister who would help you with the paper as long as you bribe her with chocolate and do her share of the chores – washing the dishes, folding the laundry…

Or, if nothing works, there is one more tempting option – you can outsource your homework. Just like big corporations are outsourcing their work to the cheap labor in other countries, the same is possible for homework too. Yes, you can pay someone to write your essay or paper. The outfits are called the ‘paper mills’, and there is no shortage of them either.

The paper mills offer a wide variety of services for the right price.
“Our services include writing custom essays, term papers, reports and research papers. Our main goal is to assist you in your academic research work…..”, says the home-page of one such paper mill.
“We deliver non-plagiarized custom writing services, term papers, essays, book reports, thesis……”
“If you can’t write your paper because you don’t have enough research, overburdened with work and other responsibilities…., use our custom writing service for 100% non-plagiarised term papers….”

However, the word ‘plagiarized’ was spelled wrong by these professionals who claim to have staff of ‘Native English writers, with masters’ degree holders only’. :)

Let us not forget, however, it is unethical, it is immoral and dishonest. The consequences may be very serious if you get caught by the teacher.

If you don’t feel like doing your school work, you can buy your way out of your laziness. That is, if you have no moral or ethical problem with all this, and if you are sure that your teacher will be stupid enough to not recognize something that is very different from your writing style.

Also, depending on the topic, don’t expect to get a high quality paper to your own satisfaction. Just imagine a person sitting in Indian or China, writing a term paper on the topic of American Civil War that he or she has never heard of before.

These paper mills are the prime examples of the growing moral problem in today’s society. They are showing an easy way out of a student’s commitment, instead of learning to appreciate the rewards of hard work. The whole thing is defeating the purpose of education and learning.

It is really sad to see that today’s students are getting an early lesson into the fact that money will fix anything. We are obviously living in a society that rewards wealth, not intelligence or character.

May be I should also consider outsourcing this blog! And, change its name to something like – ‘The Indians Abroad: By the hired help from India and China!’ :)

So, in the future if you start to see lots of unrelated topics like ‘How to play chess – the Chinese way’, you will know why!
